Handmade. One-off piece. Venus Candleholder continues my fascination with the ocean and beach treasures - the quiet act of searching, and the beauty found in things shaped by time.

I’ve always been drawn to erosion and transformation. How something once submerged slowly changes - taken over by corals, seagrass, salt and movement - becoming something entirely new, yet still holding traces of what it once was.

The ceramic elements are vintage, already carrying their own past life. I love working with objects that already exist, continuing their story rather than beginning from zero. The gold becomes a way of giving life again - highlighting, elevating, and gently transforming what was once forgotten.

The shells are nature itself - a direct connection to the underwater world, collected over time and shaped by it.

Everything is made by hand and assembled slowly, layer by layer. A process that takes time, where nothing is rushed, and where transformation happens quietly - almost like a slow tide building a new landscape.

Venus Candleholder becomes a small underwater memory - where old and new meet, and where time is allowed to leave its mark.

An art installation by goldsmith Rebecca Elbek in collaboration with designer Andrea Larsson, Reflections Copenhagen

Each leftover crystal has a unique beauty and character because of its flaws where where its imperfections and fractures become a part of its past and the beginning of a new story.

Rebecca Elbek has composed new bejeweled whimsical objects with a hidden truth of life lived and an unexpected, but beautiful future ahead. Each object is ornamented with discarded gold and broken jewelry pieces and leftover casts.
