For the fourth time, sisters Rebecca Elbek and Andrea Larsson attended Enter Art Fair 2024, unified by their shared vision and artistic universes. Together, they’ve created a new universe, which serves as an interpretation of a set table, that rises above the ordinary to evoke deeper narratives and emotions. 

Crafted from both polished and unpolished crystals, covered in gold, it sparkles under the soft ambient light, spreading a warm, welcoming glow upon its surroundings. The products, despite initial rejection, present new opportunities due to their prestigious, versatile, and everlasting materials. The crystal and gold embody the timeless allure of luxury, while it also evokes a sense of nostalgia and wonder. 

Among the whimsical and broken pieces, mushrooms sprout towards the light, mending the damage and creating new life in the present. The mushrooms transform what was once shattered into something vibrant and alive, showing how life finds a way to flourish even in the midst of ruin. Observe how the crystals weave through the play of shadows and reflections, adding another layer of beauty and complexity to the scene. 

From the joy of celebrations to the sadness of loss, the sculptures also remind us of the timeless beauty of the past and present. 

With our presence at this year’s Enter Art Fair, we want to contribute a more sustainable and ethical proposal that bridges the gab between our two industries and universes of crystals and gold. Leftover crystal parts and broken pieces are given new life through the art of repurposing them with gold-plated residual materials. It has been elevated into timeless treasures and everlasting unwearable jewelry.

Each leftover crystal has a unique beauty and character because of its flaws where where its imperfections and fractures become a part of its past and the beginning of a new story. 

Rebecca Elbek has composed new bejeweled whimsical objects with a hidden truth of life lived and an unexpected, but beautiful future ahead. Each object is ornamented with discarded gold and broken jewelry pieces and leftover casts.

Together with my beloved sister Andrea Larsson, the Co-Founder of Reflections Copenhagen, we have created our own storytelling and universe with special pieces filled with stardust that symbolizes a journey to the Moon and Back.  

The intention of the collaboration is to see the beauty of the jewelry through the optical illusion or the light reflections that the crystal can create. You will experience a universe that bursts the frames which creates a new dimension and a new way to explore both jewelry and crystals. Together we have created one of a kind art pieces and our own storytelling filled with stardust that symbolises a journey to the Moon and Back. 

For this art installation I have created five pieces of jewelry and some rocky meteoroids that each tells a little story about the time and space. I am really fascinated by the surreal and spacey galaxy spirals and the black holes which you will experience are reflected in the pieces that I have made for this installation.

If the first thing you noticed was a handful of gold rings on Nicole Kidman in the six-part series The Undoing, you have all the makings of jewelry enthusiast, (read: you are jewel obsessed). During my own binge watching extravaganza of the first five episodes, my first question of course was “who designed the symbolic rings that Nicole Kidman’s character Grace wears throughout the series which helps to define her character?” And who was the masterful costume designer who created the entire sumptuous chic bohemian style in this HBO psychological mystery thriller?” Of course, I wanted to know ‘whodunit’, but my jewelry sleuth took over and I delved deeper into the mystery of the rings and the one pair of earrings worn which you can see beneath Kidman’s curly long locks of hair. The series was written and produced by David E. Kelly and directed by Danish director Susanne Bier.

Danish costume designer Signe Sejlund chose Rebecca Elbek’s jewellery to be worn by Nicole Kidman in HBO miniseries The Undoing. Nicole Kidman wore the Secret Woman Earrings, the Fine Scarab Ring, Owl Ring and a Nomad ring.

In the summer of 2020, Rebecca for the second time participated with Reflections Copenhagen in Enter Art Fair. They together created 3 pieces with a perfect union of gold jewellery and crystal shrines. “Separately we are exceptional, together we are evolutionary”. The thought of creating a one of a kind sculpture that could combine an installation and a sacred box to store your favorite piece of jewellery, was the initial inspiration that brought Reflection Copenhagen and Rebecca Elbek together.

To make an installation where the piece of jewellery, can be enjoyed visually when not being worn. What are we could create illusions, reflections and take the piece into a new form says Rebecca Elbek. Mirror Exhibit: The mirror Exhibit is reflecting surfaces of the mirror and casting back the view of the jewellery. Creates a three-dimensional universe and challenges the experience of space. The Summer garden earrings are made in 18. hammered gold, bejeweled with small gold butterflies filled with 1.085ct. diamonds. The butterfly flying underneath the leave has diamonds on both sides which are being reflected from every side when looking into the mirrors (link til summer garden earrings). Optical Exhibit: The optical illusion creates a perception of the size which in combination with the involuntary movements of our eyes resonate sensation and gives the jewellery new “rays”.

The 18ct. gold Summer garden ring is covered in 0.67ct. diamonds. When looking through the magnifying glass you can see all details in the fauna, and view the summer garden and the beauty of the colorful butterflies even closer. Illusion Exhibit: Illuminated by transparent exhibit it admits the passage of light through interstices. The crystal colors reflect light on the jewellery. The 18ct. gold Scarab earrings are bejeweled with green emeralds set around the golden scarab and the small turtle is also surrounded by green diamonds symbolizing the vegetation that is this animal’s natural habitat. The transparency allows us to take a closer look at a normally overseen creature.
